the french drains are done

the french drains in progress

Two tons of gravel, 270 feet of landscape fabric, 40 feet of plastic, countless hours of labor, and one less glove later, the drainage system for the front of the house is complete. This picture was taken after shoveling in the first ton of gravel into the trenches which are nearly two feet deep at some areas. This is just one of the drains and it runs across the front of the sunroom is intersected by the drain at the side of the sunroom and terminates at a dry well. Now the little tree has been removed and the drains are invisible, having been covered with landscape fabric and dirt. The new sunroom floor shall stay dry! Next projects will be a new stone facing on the exterior of the sunroom, which is likely to lead to repainting the exterior of the house and moving the walls and oors in the living areas to prepare for the big remodel.
