This photo shows the new treated wood in the sunroom, the plastic on the ground which Martin, thankfully, suggested, and Martin himself. Okay, not all of Martin, but I was trying to show the room and avoid the glare of the windows. The terrible smell that used to assault you as you entered this room left with the rotten wood and a good bleaching of the soil. The treated wood is just a precaution. This photo was taken yesterday well after dark and well before the friendly officer of the law came to shut us down. More on that and a photo of the subfloor another day. There is a lot going on right now. French drains, some concrete and stone work on the porch side, gutters, and possibly a dry creek are all in the works. The yard looks worse than ever but, as everyone knows, a bigger mess is just a necessary step toward a more perfect system. And so is a certain amount of rest.
