Clear Spring End of Year Program

students and teacher say goodbye

My godson (right) and his friend completed the sixth grade and put on a good show for us which featured interesting facts about different states on large hand-lettered banners rotated in sync with a fun song. I could hear the audience reading them out loud and exclaiming and gasping so I know I am not the only one who learned a little something. For example, the longest marriage lasted 83 years and was in the state of Tennessee. The honey bee is the most popular state insect and if you know me, you know I loved the banners about the bees. Unfortunately, I did not get a decent picture of any of the program. I can tell you that my godson received an award for problem solving, as well a certificate from Doug Stowe for his participation in the Wisdom of the Hands Woodworking project. I am proud of my godson and proud of our school. The Wisdom of the Hands Program is an excellent example of how our school embraces the wholeness of each of its students. The Celebration of the Child Program is one of my favorite events of the whole year because it highlights the honest connection and respect between the teachers and the students as partners in creating a community of lifelong learners. Thank you Clear Springs and thank you and fare well to Andrea as she moves on to her next adventure. These guys have already moved on. After the program we were lucky to be invited out for a wonderful dinner at Local Flavor and they sat at their own table on the deck. They were perfect young gentlemen but they did not let us forget for a minute that they are now junior high school students.
