So, last Friday night I was relaxing at the fire ring with my godson. It was nice to play a little music, roast some marshmallows, chat, and stare into the embers. So nice that I continued to relax for most of the weekend, taking in lots of art and seeing friends all over town. Sunday night, on my way home, I made one last stop at the Hummingbird Gallery to see Wendi and Robert. They were installing lights in the back room of the shop where they have added a totally cool line of clothing made in Nepal. On the way out, I spied a silver bracelet with large slices of meteorite. The sign said meteorite-falling star. It caught my attention and I told them about the time I heard and then saw this tremendously large falling star. It was so close that I crouched as it approached the other side of the lake where I lived. Robert told me he happens to be somewhat of a meteorite geek and told me more about the other side of my experience. His explanation ended with how cool it is that I was actually part of the creation of the sound which I heard as the meteorite displaced the air 10 miles overhead and actually led to the formation of plasma. Ooooh, plasma… But that’s just an interesting aside. After we finished marveling at the phenomenon of meteorites, Wendi reminded me that this coming Friday will be the White Street Walk. I’m going to give you a link to go read more about this event so I can go prepare. I want to finish this painting of a bowl of cherries on a piano. One more interesting aside, my horoscope calls for me to make myself more magnetic for blessings and lists one possible, though not sure-fire, way of doing that is to wear a meteorite necklace.
