The painting I have been referring to as the next blissed out girl now has a name. In this photo you can see how I determined style and placement of the lettering. The next photo of this painting will be the finished piece.
An online friend of mine has been doing a photographic self portrait a day and I have found it very interesting to see her and learn her different faces. I have a hard time with remembering facial features and describing people based on them. I typically say things like, “She’s the young one who always smiles, has cheerful eyes, and seems to be open to the world.” I’ve been talking to another friend who shares this way of seeing people and also finds himself lost as to how he knows someone and he suggested asking people what we talked about when we last met so that I can recall who I know but can’t recognize. Good idea. I also think it will be useful for me to pay more attention to noticing distinguishing features. Anyway, faces are on my mind a lot a lately and I couldn’t help but wonder what others see when they look at my face, so I turned the camera on myself. Here is one of my faces. It was taken in the middle of the night after working on the painting in the background.
