The girl who loves to make her own rain on a hot summer night is nearing completion. I had to completely rework her hand in order to make it really belong to her. I am slowly building up the water with very thin paint, using water to help create the illusion of water. It works but is a bit slow since the layers need to really set for a day until I can do any more working on that area. I have been taking my time with piece and working on it much less intently than I usually do, allowing myself time and energy to develop other ideas for this series, to talk with people about the pieces they would like me to paint for them, to take care of my home, to cook, to sleep, to practice the violin, to visit with friends, and to dance around the fires I have been building in the yard.

Kathryn, I’ve seen that you have really started producing more art since you finishsed your new studio. I know it is an inspiration to paint, paint, paint. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Phyllis. It feels good to be back at the easel.
Hey, Jim says this girl looks like Robin with blue eyes….I say vaguely, but not exactly!
