I have been thinking about what sort of car I need to purchase when my gigantic old sedan finally fails. I love my big automobile. It is comfortable on long trips, can haul an amazing amount of stuff for shows, seats six, and while its appearance of luxury is no more, it still feels quite luxurious to drive. The day came for the guy with the truck to stop by and pick up the panels. I was told that although the eight foot panels would hang out the back of the truck, he would know how to care for them. It was raining. He called and said he was coming in his Honda Civic instead. I got up to meet him looked at his little car and thought this would be impossible. Sure enough, this little car held all fifteen panels! The front passenger seat was laid back, the back seats were folded forward, allowing the eight foot panels to slide in and rest on the dashboard. There was even another 5 or 6 inches at the back! The four foot panels fit behind the driver’s seat. The 16″ squares were packaged in a box, but we took them out and laid them on the passenger seat up front, under the eight footers! I was amazed and impressed and added the Civic to the list of cars to consider for my next car. While very few paintings are only 16″ wide and 8′ long, when the seats are folded down, this car could probably haul 3′ x4′ paintings.
